Umar Nurmagomedov has turned the fire up in his newfound rivalry with current UFC Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili on X.

Yan put on a clinic as he headlined UFC Macau against former champion Deiveson Figueredo and called out the current champ.

Despite Nurmagomedov appearing to secure No.1 contender status last time out, the exchange between Yan and Dvalishvili indicates the rematch will be next, which has provoked Nurmagomedov.

Umar wasted no time in responding to Merab and MMA fans this morning, following Nurmagomedov’s rant of posts on Sunday.

Looking to carry his tirade on for another day, all eyes are currently on the Bantamweight division and the future of the championship.

Umar Nurmagomedov responds to Merab Dvalishivili manager claim

Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz was caught out on Saturday evening. There were X posts that appeared to show Aziz was Tweeting off Nurmagomedov’s account – which backfired when he forgot to switch for a response.

This prompted Dvalishivili to call out Nurmagomedov about the accidental X comments, where he was then met with a concise response from Nurmagomedov, attempting to put the post-management claims to bed.

At the time of this article, Petr Yan is yet to involve himself in the feud between Umar and Merab. Having seen Merab suggest a date for the rematch, Yan will likely want to ensure the spotlight is still on his Figueiredo victory and not a spat on X.

Merab Dvalishvili calls Umar Nurmagomedov out for his posts

Whilst the interaction between Dvalishvili and Yan was short and respectful, Merab called Umar out for the "kind of man he is" and the Dagestani Bantamweight didn't take these claims lightly.

In an interview back in September Merab walked off during questioning of a potential fight with Umar Nurmagomedov, responding with "Who the f**k is Umar – he just fought one fight". The animosity has been building for a period and following Umars x rant, it appears we could be reaching boiling point.

Merab has only responded once to Umar at the time of writing, but one thing fight fans can be assured of is this rivalry will not be over any time soon!
