During a fight on UFC legend, Anthony Pettis’ promotion, APFC, one of his fighters dropped one of the most bizarre moves in an MMA cage of all time, which was witnessed by Dustin Poirier.

During his time in the UFC, Anthony Pettis pulled off some of the craziest moves to be seen in the Octagon, with his signature ‘Showtime kick’ being one of the most iconic moments in MMA history.

Since leaving the UFC and subsequently taking a step back from competing, ‘Showtime’ has created his own MMA promotion, Anthony Pettis FC.

APFC is the self-proclaimed fastest growing MMA promotion in the United States and all of their events broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.

MMA fighter drops The Rock’s signature move during APFC event

On Sunday, APFC 16 took place from Milwaukee, with several titles on the line at the top of the bill and UFC legend, Dustin Poirier was in attendance to watch the night of fights.

However, it was a fight on the undercard that went viral and stole the headlines, after Miguel Sanson dropped The Rock’s signature WWE move, The People’s Elbow.

There have been many bizarre moves used in MMA, however, this may be the first occasion in which a fighter has integrated a famous WWE finisher.

Swanson went on to utterly batter his opponent, Chris Johnson, shortly after ‘The People’s Elbow’ picking him up and slamming him on his head in another WWE-like move.

The scene that followed was quite a disturbing one, as Johnson had to be hooked up to Oxygen and was stretchered out of the cage after a while of being out on the ground.

Dustin Poirier was hit with a similar move after brutal UFC KO loss

After Poirier was brutally knocked out by Justin Gaethje during their UFC 291 BMF title fight, Poirier was hit with The Rock’s signature move by referee, Herb Dean.

‘The Diamond’s’ attendance at APFC 16 comes during a quiet time in his career. Following his UFC 302 loss to Islam Makhachev, Poirier revealed he will retire after his next fight.

Although the former UFC interim lightweight champion doesn’t have an official fight yet, rumors continue to circulate that he will complete a trilogy against current BMF champion, Max Holloway.
