Conor McGregor has been ripped by YouTube star KSI after calling him out for a fight last week in Marbella.

The UFC legend was promoting his first BKFC event in Spain when he was asked by the Misfits Boxing YouTube channel about his interest in fighting the social media star. He launched a scathing attack on the Brit, mocking his new song in an intense rant.

Now, KSI has had his chance to hit back at the Irishman, insisting that he is ready to fight once McGregor can get out of free agency. It isn’t the first time the pair have gone back-and-forth over a potential fight, and there appears to be legitimate beef between the two.

Conor McGregor called out KSI over new song

During the promotion for his initial BKFC event in Spain last week, Conor McGregor was asked about the potential of fighting KSI after calling him out in the summer of last year. He took aim at the rapper for his viral new song The Thick Of It, and insisted the pair could fight.

"Let's go man,” McGregor declared during the interview. “I'll fight him for that b***s*** song he released alone. I'll fight him for that f***ing song."

It followed an appearance in the ring last year at Anthony Joshua’s fight with Robert Helenius. The pair had both appeared ringside, and McGregor decided it would be a good chance to call out the YouTuber for a bare knuckle brawl.

"I know your man KSI is in the crowd and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg boxing factory,” McGregor said in a now-infamous rant. “So if he wants to get in here I’ll give him a final yoke, bare-knuckle if you want."

McGregor’s comments towards KSI made the pair go viral over the weekend, adding to the allure around the YouTuber’s song. And at a press conference for Misfits Boxing’s new super-card, KSI finally reacted to the jab from his rival.

“I feel like he’s a disgrace to the whole of Ireland,” KSI began in a scathing response. “He’s a disgrace to his family and I don’t know, it’s embarrassing. I think he’s an embarrassment and when was the last notable thing he did? Give me something recent.

“He is nothing right now and he’s just waltzing about like he’s the s*** when he isn’t. I'm here to fight, bro, I'm here to fight. I said I want big fights, and I'm gonna get big fights. Next year we're going to fight big.

That's how I am and I can't wait, I've been training hard, working hard, making sure I knock out opponents. You know, making sure that the weight is on point every time and I can't wait, so Conor, let’s go.”

KSI teases Conor McGregor over struggle to get UFC fights

One of the key talking points in McGregor’s career over the past year has been his inability to make his return to the cage after three years out with a broken leg. He returned to full training in late 2021, and has been cleared to compete for the best part of two years.

But aside from a UFC 303 date in June against Michael Chandler which was cancelled due to a broken toe, he hasn’t been able to get a fight date. And KSI brought up that fact as he continued to go in on his rival.

“He’s not even fighting for Dana [White, UFC CEO], he’s not even fighting in UFC,” KSI added. “He’s not even there, that’s why I don’t even expect him to fight. Why’s he going to come through to Misfits and fight me? It’s just not going to happen.

“Once he finally fights for Dana then maybe we can actually properly talk. But right now, he’s just a pointless human being that is wasting everyone’s time… He’s being an embarrassment to his wife, to his kids and the whole of Ireland. It’s, quite frankly, a disgrace.”
