Jiri Prochazka may have a sore head for more than one reason after UFC 311
The former light heavyweight champion traded blows with Jamahal Hill for three rounds at the Intuit Dome in California on Saturday night.
Jiri Prochazka had to overcome some adversity to score a late knockout win in his first fight since being put to sleep by Alex Pereira at UFC 303 last June.
Post-fight, ‘BJP’ called out Pereira before heading backstage to discuss his UFC 311 win with the media.
Jiri Prochazka plans post-fight party with ‘crazy’ friends
Megan Olivi rounded off her interview with Prochakza by asking him how he celebrates his UFC victories.
The ESPN MMA reporter laughed as she got an answer she wasn’t expecting from the 205lb fan favorite.
"I took two f***ing crazy guys from my village to here to see this event,” Prochazka said.
“They are here. Today, I will bring them to my hotel, and they will see something.
"You are invited."
Exactly what Prochazka and his friends got up to in his hotel room remains a mystery.
However, a clip of the Czech fighter’s comments has since gone viral on social media, with fans struggling to understand what he was talking about.
One fan tweeted: "Lol wonder what kind of night this guy had."
Another said: “Bro what?????
Someone else joked: "He's gonna actually just hard spar them in the dark for 3 days straight."
A fourth person commented: "Lost in translation."
Alex Pereira open to Jiri Prochazka trilogy fight
Pereira stopped Prochazka to become the light heavyweight champion at UFC 295 in November 2023.
A short-notice rematch between the 205lb duo ended even more conclusively in Pereira’s favor.
Still, he remains open to a third fight with Prochazka after he’s dealt with the next threat to his title reign.
‘Poatan’ is set to defend his belt against streaking contender Magomedov Ankalaev at UFC 313 in March, on a stacked card co-headlined by an epic lightweight clash between Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker.
“I'm ready to fight anybody,” Pereira said via a translator at UFC 311.
“It doesn't matter who it is. Right now, it's Ankalaev's time, I'm going to fight Ankalaev.
“After this fight, everything going good, we are going to give Jiri the opportunity.
“That's what he says that he wants, he's gonna have it.”
Dana White also sounded open to the idea of a trilogy bout between the two popular strikers, although he also noted that the promotion will 'wait and see' what happens with Pereira vs Ankalaev.
"I don't know, we've got to see how it will play out with Alex now,” the UFC CEO said at his post-fight press conference.
“I doubt [that] people don't want to see this fight again, so we'll see how it plays out."
