MLB Insider Calls Out Dodgers for Disrespectful Comments About Yankees After World Series Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers are receiving backlash for what players have said about the New York Yankees after their Game 5 debacle. On Baseball Tonight with Buster Olney, the ESPN reporter shared his thoughts on Joe Kelly and Chris Taylor taking shots at the Yankees.
“I know this: If the Yankees had won, Aaron Judge wouldn’t have crapped on the Dodgers,” Olney said. “Giancarlo Stanton wouldn’t have. Anthony Volpe? No chance.”
It’s evident Olney isn’t fond of what some Dodgers players chose to say after the team beat the Yankees in the Fall Classic. Olney specifically referenced what Taylor said on Mookie Betts’ podcast in a recent episode, when he stated, "We're all kind of thinking it — (the Yankees) kind of (crapped) down their leg."
“I think Taylor’s had a great career, the way he’s adjusted at the plate, he’s adapted to different positions,” Olney continued. “He’s one of the best in the world at what he does. But he and the small handful of other Dodgers who are chirping know better than anyone how hard their sport is to play, and they’re better than this. Why not bask in the glory of an incredible World Series win from the high ground?”
The Dodgers, with the help of poor defense from New York, orchestrated a historic comeback after facing a 0-5 deficit. It was the sort of jaw-dropping game that seems too crazy to be true, and yet it was the very inning that transpired for the Dodgers to take home their eighth World Series title.
The Dodgers scored five times in their fifth-inning rally. The Yankees managed to score another run in the sixth, but the Dodgers answered again with two eighth-inning runs. Yankee Stadium went from a roaring crowd to defeated New York fans in a matter of minutes.
Players have expressed the odd energy during Game 5 of the World Series, and have also said the obvious: The Yankees played shockingly poor defense.
It may seem harsh to hear that sentence, but it is certainly true. The Dodgers wouldn’t have won that game without New York’s subpar defense.
At the end of the day, though, we will never know what Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, or Anthony Volpe would’ve said about the Dodgers after the World Series because the Yankees lost. Olney just wants to see the Dodgers taking more of the high road.
