Let the Jackie Robinson celebrations continue!

Jackie Robinson Day was Monday, and the MLB celebrated the legacy of the legendary Los Angeles Dodger who broke the MLB color barrier in 1947 by having every player wear the number 42 in honor of Robinson.

To continue celebrating Robinson, Homage has released a special Robinson jacket. The blue jacket features the Dodgers logo along with Robinson’s No. 42. Additionally, the famous Robinson quote, “A life is not important except for the impact it had on other lives,” is engraved inside the jacket. The jacket is an exclusive item, with Homage only selling 420 of them in honor of Robinson’s number.

This jacket is another way to celebrate one of the most important players in MLB history. Along with breaking the color barrier, Robinson was an important figure in the Civil Rights movement, helping advocate for equal rights and treatment. He was the first Black player inducted into the Cooperstown Baseball of Fame, and the first Black MLB television analyst. He has the lone number retired by the entirety of MLB.

On the field, Robinson was also a great. Robinson became the MLB Rookie of the Year after breaking the color barrier, before becoming the NL batting champion and MVP two years later. He was a six-time All-Star, and helped lead the Dodgers to their first World Series title in 1955 before retiring a year later in 1956. Robinson hit .313 while notching 141 home runs and 761 RBIs.
