The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day injured list as part of a series of roster moves on Wednesday.

Miller was first placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 16, retroactive to Aug. 13, which makes Oct. 12 the earliest day he could return. The National League Division Series concludes on Oct. 11 at the latest, so Glasnow could theoretically be back for the NL Championship Series, although it’s still unlikely.

Glasnow’s rehab process has been up-and-down since he first landed on the IL. At the time, he disagreed with the Dodgers’ decision to give him time off, saying he felt healthy and ready to pitch.

The initial belief was Glasnow would only need a minimum stint on the shelf, but since then, he has felt discomfort while throwing multiple times.

After overcoming a delay in his recovery from right elbow tendinitis, Glasnow suffered a setback while warming up to pitch in a simulated game last weekend. There still was initial optimism but additional scans revealed Glasnow suffered a right elbow sprain.

The positive news is Glasnow’s ulnar collateral ligament is still intact and will not require Tommy John surgery for the second time.

Glasnow’s first season with the Dodgers ends with him throwing a career-high 134 innings with a 3.49 ERA, 2.90 FIP and 0.95 WHIP while striking out 32.2% of hitters and walking 6.7%. He is under contract through the 2027 season after signing a long-term extension as part of the trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.

He is currently away from the team on an excused absence.

Moving Glasnow to the 60-day IL cleared a 40-man roster spot for Zach Logue, who was called up on Wednesday, along with Joe Kelly being activated, while Michael Grove and Bobby Miller being optioned.
