The Los Angeles Dodgers partnered with Fanatics and the local sports community, including each L.A. organization, to raise funds for wildfire relief efforts.
Every club has an L.A. Strong shirt with their logo on it being sold by Fanatics. All proceeds from the L.A. Strong merchandise will be donated directly to the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
The American Red Cross is working to provide assistance to those affected by these fires and the LAFD Foundation is providing much-needed support and equipment to first responders.
Along with the Dodgers, the list of available L.A. Strong shirts include the Lakers, Galaxy, USC Trojans, Sparks, Ducks, Kings, Clippers, Chargers, LAFC, Angel City, Rams and Angels. L.A. Strong shirts for Golf Club and the L.A. 2028 Olympics are also available.
“My heart breaks as we all watch the horror continue to unfold across Los Angeles and completely upend so many lives. The devastation that these fires have caused is unthinkable,” Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin wrote in a statement.
“Many people I consider family, including our employees based there, have been directly affected, and our organization is rallying together to try and make a real impact as fast as possible.”
California is currently in a state of emergency as fires continue to spread in Southern California. Along with local fire departments, the city is also receiving help from neighboring states, the federal government, as well as Canada and Mexico.
Firefighters are currently battling blazes in Pacific Palisades, Altadena/Pasadena, West Hills, Sylmar, Acton (Antelope Valley) and Granada Hills.
Dodgers players have also supported relief efforts with Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea making multiple donations and the Chris Taylor Foundation working to raise money for the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
