Dodgers Arbitration Rumors: Tony Gonsolin Agrees To Contract For 2025 Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff has been decimated by injuries over recent seasons, which included Tony Gonsolin undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2023.
It came after Gonsolin labored through 20 starts that season amid clear regression from an All-Star campaign the year prior. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts alluded to Gonsolin not being 100% but it wasn’t until announcing he required Tommy John that the full extent of his health trouble was public knowledge.
Gonsolin didn’t pitch in 2024 and went into the offseason among the Dodgers eligible for arbitration.
According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Gonsolin agreed to a one-year, $5.4 million contract with the Dodgers to avoid arbitration:

Gonsolin’s 2025 salary matches what he earned this year, which was part of a two-year contract extension he signed in February 2023. It’s also equal the amount MLB Trade Rumors projected Gonsolin’s 2025 salary would be.
The 30-year-old surprisingly started a rehab assignment in September and at one point was deemed a candidate to return this past season as the Dodgers dealt with mounting injuries.
However, the team eventually ruled out the possibility and instead shifted the focus to 2025. Gonsolin should be fully cleared upon reporting to Spring Training but also figures to be on an innings limit next season.
Friday was the deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players. The Dodgers also are said to have reached an agreement with Dustin May, who missed all of 2024 as well.
Tony Gonsolin part of Dodgers’ Thanksgiving drive
Although Gonsolin couldn’t be on the field with the Dodgers this year, he joined them in the dugout late in the season and recently participated in a Thanksgiving event to provide dinners to local families in need.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation also had the support of Anthony Banda and Landon Knack as well.
