The Cincinnati Bengals did all that they could do in Week 18. Now, it's up to the rest of the league.
The Bengals topped the Steelers, 19-17, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Saturday night. Cincinnati finished the season at 9-8 on the year. The Bengals remain alive for the playoffs, but they need some help on Sunday.
Cincinnati needs Kansas City, playing without Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, to beat Denver. The Bengals also need the Dolphins to lose to the New York Jets. If both of those things happen, Joe Burrow and Co. will be heading to the playoffs.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor knows that the rest of the league doesn't want to see that.
The Cincinnati Bengals head coach knows that his team is capable of beating everyone in the postseason.
"They're capable of everything," Taylor said, via the team's website. "They don't want us in this tournament, I promise you."
For Burrow, it's going to be a stressful Sunday.
"Yeah, it was a big win, one that we were excited about, and one where we needed a lot of different people to step up. Now we can sit back and hope for the best," he told reporters following the game.
The Bengals started the year 4-8. They have finished the season with five straight victories. Burrow is happy with how his team has responded to the tough start.
"I am. I am. I think we have had our great players playing great. For the most part they have all year. But we've had some young guys step up in spots, and that's been -- they've been showing a lot of promise. So that's exciting to have some of those guys step up, step up like that, and guys that we can count on," he said.
Now, the Bengals will have to wait and see if they can get the help they need on Sunday.
