Alica Schmidt, a.k.a the "World's Hottest Olympian," turned heads with her latest social media post.
The German track star, who competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, is set to reinvent herself moving forward. Schmidt, 26, is turning herself into an 800m runner. She had mostly competed in the 400m and 400m hurdles.
"After Paris I tried something new and ran a 800m & 600m and really enjoyed pushing out of my comfort zone. Back in 2022, I decided that I wanted to give the 800m a shot after the Paris Olympics, so now it means… I'm going for it next year 👀 I'm on my way to my first high altitude training camp where I'll join an international 800m group to train alongside great athletes where I can learn a lot. I'm super excited for this new challenge and what it will bring ✨ (I'm also going to run the 400m but focus more on the endurance part in training for now) Let this journey begin .. xoxo," she announced.
Schmidt took some time off after the Summer Games in Paris, but she's since been getting back to work.
Schmidt, who has close to six million followers on Instagram, has been hitting the ice bath hard as she trains for the 2025 season.
"From training in South Africa straight into having an ice bath in the French Alps ❄️🏔️🥶," she wrote.
Ice baths are meant to help with recovery, as they can prevent inflammation and increase blood flow to the muscles.
Schmidt clearly makes it look good, too.
