Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham is no stranger to making headlines because of her wardrobe. Throughout the 2024 WNBA season, she gained more and more fans because of her pregame outfits.

Cunningham wore plenty of risqué outfits this year, including one that showed off her tan lines. Some people questioned her decision-making, but she later revealed that her mother actually picked out some of her pregame fits. She told the New York Post, "The outfits that have went really viral, my mom has actually picked them out. It's been really fun because now (my family) is on all the outfits. And trust me, my family is like, 'Oh, gosh, what's Sophie gonna wear today?' It's just like a running joke."

Although the WNBA season won't return until May, Cunningham is already turning heads this offseason.

On Friday night, Cunningham shared a selfie of her rocking a cowgirl outfit. She was wearing denim shorts with black boots, a leather jacket and an awesome hat.

While Cunningham certainly deserves praise for her fashion, let's not forget that she's also an impactful player for the Mercury.

Last season, Cunningham averaged 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She constantly provided Phoenix with great shooting from beyond the arc.

The Mercury have already signed Cunningham to an extension that'll run through the 2025 season.

"Phoenix has become my home away from home, and I am so thrilled to be in the Valley and continue to get to play in front of the best fans in the W – the X-Factor," Cunningham said in a statement. "The investments Mat is making in our organization are unmatched and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of what we are building here, on the court and in the community."

It wouldn't surprise us if Cunningham's popularity doubles by the end of the 2025 season.
