WNBA Player Got Mom's Approval For Controversial Pregame Outfit

When it comes to fashion, no WNBA player has turned more heads this season than Sophie Cunningham of the Phoenix Mercury.
Cunningham has already unveiled a handful of interesting looks this year, but none created as much buzz as her "Love Island" dress from Aug. 26.
What made Cunningham's dress so controversial was the fact that she showed off all her tan lines. Some people thought it was an unprofessional look from her.
In a recent interview, Cunningham revealed that her mother actually picked that outfit for her.
"I was just talking to someone, and I was like, 'Actually my mom picked that outfit out,'" Cunningham said, via Fox News Digital. "Everyone's all in my comments about, 'Oh, your parents --' and I'm like, actually, that was my mom's doing. But, no, I had no idea."
Cunningham added that it's cool WNBA players' pregame outfits are generating so much attention this season.
"I do think it's super cool that people are interested in what we do off the court now. Our tunnel fits have been a fashion show, and people are so excited and intrigued about what we're going to wear."
Cunningham claims she has a "feisty" outfit lined up for this Thursday's game against the Washington Mystics. We can't wait to see what she ends up wearing for her walk down the pregame tunnel.
On the court, Cunningham is averaging 8.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Mercury. She's been a vital role player for them, make no mistake about it.
