WNBA Legend Is Sick Of The Caitlin Clark Complaints

The Caitlin Clark narratives can get tired for many in the WNBA.
While some of the league's players are clearly bothered by the amount of love and praise for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, others can admit how much she's done for the league. Lisa Leslie is one of those players. The legendary WNBA forward has recently sounded off against those who are critical of the Indiana Fever star.
Leslie, one of the best players in WNBA history, has made it very clear that everyone in the league should be appreciative of what Clark has done for them.
Leslie's message for those in the WNBA complaining about Clark is essentially: stop it.
"We can't deny what Caitlin Clark has done for the women's game...have we ever had teams need larger arenas?" she said.
"Are we gonna get upset about 5, 6, 10 games less on tv? We have access to these games now in a way that we'd never had before."
Leslie said in an interview earlier this week with USA Today that Clark's popularity and fame will be good for everyone.
"I think we have to understand that when one player eats, we're all eating and we all get more opportunities. It just opens it up for everyone else," Leslie said. "I love that she's not the player that makes it all about her. She's given love and homage to the players that have come before her. She shares the wealth with her teammates and she doesn't have to do that."

Leslie is one of the few with a major women's basketball platform to admit this. Like it or not, Clark is the face of the game right now. She still might not be the best player in the game - that would be MVP A'ja Wilson - but there's no arguing against Clark's popularity.
Ultimately, it should be a good thing for everyone in the sport. Clark is the rising tide that lifts all boats. And while it might be uncomfortable for some people to admit that, it is very clearly the truth.
