The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 59 in resounding fashion, beating the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
Philadelphia led 34-0 before the Chiefs even scored a point. It was 40-6 late in the fourth quarter before Kansas City added a pair of meaningless touchdowns as window dressing. The Eagles won so handily, backups like No. 2 quarterback Kenny Pickett finished the game.
Traded to the Eagles this offseason after two years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickett backed up Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts all season, making one start in December. The 2022 first-round pick played the final couple of series of Super Bowl 59, throwing one incomplete pass and kneeling down in the final snaps.
Throughout the season and Philadelphia's postseason run, Pickett's wife Amy was by his side. A former college soccer player at Princeton, Amy Pickett grew up at the Jersey Shore near her husband.
"We worked out at the same place growing up because Amy played soccer and I played football," Kenny Pickett told PEOPLE following the couple's wedding in 2023. "We started training at this place when I was like 12 years old and Amy might have been 10, so I knew her growing up from there. We never talked and then she went off to Princeton and I went to Pitt. We came home on a college break and saw each other at a party and hit it off."
Amy Pickett often goes viral on social media, and she did just that over the weekend with her Instagram post chronicling the Eagles' Super Bowl parade on Friday.
"You have outdone yourself, Philly 🦅🦅🦅," Pickett captioned the post.
After a job well-done in a supporting role in Philadelphia, Kenny Pickett is set to be a free agent.
It seems likely that he might look for a fresh start elsewhere, potentially in New Orleans, where Kellen Moore, his offensive coordinator with the Eagles, was recently hired as head coach.
Wherever the University of Pittsburgh alum goes, his wife will be there with him.
