TMZ broke the news that Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has been offered $5 million to compete in the BIG3, a three-on-three basketball league that Ice Cube created.

The timing of this report was interesting to say the least. Clark is currently focused on leading the Hawkeyes to the Final Four.

Speaking to the media this Friday afternoon, Iowa basketball coach Lisa Bluder said Clark told her about her  invitation to Team USA's training camp in April. She didn't, however, spend much energy talking about the BIG3's offer.

"The other stuff, that's just crazy," Bluder said regarding the BIG3

Ice Cube confirmed on Wednesday that Clark has been offered a deal to play in his league.

"We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship. But I won't deny what's now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark," Ice Cube wrote on X. "Why wouldn't we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3."

Clark, in theory, would compete in eight regular-season games for the BIG3. She could also appear in two playoff games depending on how the season plays out.

That being said, it doesn't sound like Clark is interested in joining the BIG3.

Clark will be back in action this Saturday when Iowa takes on Colorado in the Sweet 16.
