UConn legends Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi covered the Women's Final Four on Friday for ESPN's alternate broadcast. Throughout the night, they had special guests on to offer their thoughts on the game.

Towards the end of the Iowa-UConn game, Bird and Taurasi had Breanna Stewart on the show. Stewart, a four-time NCAA champion, also played for the Huskies during her college career.

As you'd expect, Bird, Taurasi and Stewart were all shocked when the officials called an offensive foul on Aaliyah Edwards with 3.9 seconds remaining. That call essentially crushed UConn's chances of defeating Iowa.

Taurasi didn't shy away from putting Friday's officiating crew on blast. In fact, she said the referees "ruined" the Iowa-UConn game.

"What an unfortunate time to call an offensive foul. Just know how to ruin the game," Taurasi said. "Oh my God, that's terrible."

Bird was frustrated with the call as well, saying, "I want to see a shot, at least."

Stewart didn't rip the call, but she was noticeably upset that her alma mater was about to lose in the Final Four.

Unlike the program's past stars, UConn guard Paige Bueckers refused to blame the officials for last night's loss.

"Everybody can make a big deal about that one single play but not one single play wins a basketball game or loses a basketball game," Bueckers told reporters. "I feel like I made a lot of mistakes that could've prevented that play."

UConn should be right back in the mix for a national title next season, especially since Bueckers is returning.
