Before Angel Reese became a household name in the WNBA, she was just a teenager from Maryland trying to make it big. Well, she accomplished that goal.

Reese started her basketball journey at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. She played so well during her time there that she had her jersey number retired by the school. Believe it or not, she was the first female player to receive that honor from St. Frances Academy.

With that said, an old video of Reese's highlights from her days at St. Frances Academy has surfaced on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

At the beginning of the video, Reese yells, "You can't hold me down" at a bunch of people in the crowd. It then shows a bunch of her highlights from the 2020 season.

Here's the video that's making the rounds on social media:

It appears Reese has always played with a chip on her shoulder. To be fair, it's that competitive fire that makes her a menace on the boards.

"It's a mindset. She wants it," Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon said. "She's not going to allow a box-out to keep her from getting an offensive rebound. She's very physical down there. It's a desire. She goes hard after it. She takes it very personally. She's very serious about her work of getting rebounds. She knows that's the thing she brings to this team to help us be successful, and she's mastering that role."
