The 5 Worst Hurricanes In The History Of The USA (1:57)

During Wednesday night's edition of "Special Report" on Fox News, anchor Bret Baier shared a video from the California wildfires that might just make you shed a tear.

Despite how scary things must be in California right now, a brave firefighter climbed up a flag pole to save an American flag. In the video shared on Fox News, you can hear someone say, "Don't let it trust the ground." Even though firefighters are dealing with deadly conditions, the firefighter in this clip didn't hesitate for a single second when it came to saving the flag.

Baier gave all firefighters in California a ton of love on his show. He said, "We salute them all, not just because of that act of patriotism, but because of what they're doing out there."

The video of this patriotic gesture went viral on social media Wednesday night. As you'd expect, the firefighter who saved the American flag is receiving a round of applause from his fellow Americans.

"These Firefighters are so very dedicated & deserving of recognition," one person said. "May God Bless & Protect Them and all victims of the fires & horrific travesties playing out in California."

Another person tweeted, "That's amazing and awesome."

"I can't imagine how exhausted and overwhelmed the firefighters must feel," a third person wrote on X.

More than 1,300 structures have been destroyed in California due to these wildfires. According to reports, at least five people have died so far. The biggest problem for firefighters right now is that they have to deal with erratic winds in the Los Angeles area.

"This is unlike anything that I've ever seen in my 25 years on the fire department," L.A. Fire Department Captain Adam Vangerpen said.

Vangerpen added that his priority is to get everyone in the evacuation zone to safety.

We're hoping the brave men and women trying to tame these wildfires stay safe.
