Urban Meyer's brief time in the NFL ended in embarrassing fashion, as he was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars before the end of one full season in 2021.
Meyer's tenure with the Jaguars was filled with controversy and poor results on the field, and another former NFL head coach revealed another unfortunate anecdote from a dark time in Meyer's career.
During Monday's edition of the Monday Night Football "Manningcast," former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel noted that Meyer seemed to not know who he was despite the two working together for multiple seasons.
After actor Owen Wilson told a similar story about Meyer during a charity football game, Vrabel chimed in with his own story about the former Ohio State coach.
"I can relate with Owen Wilson when I was listening earlier," Vrabel began.
"You know, I was coaching the Titans and Urban Meyer was coaching the Jaguars and he said the same thing to me. I said, yeah I'm the head coach of the Titans and I worked for you for two years."

Peyton Manning and his brother Eli were delighted by the story, and all three laughed about the incident.
Vrabel worked at Ohio State for two seasons as the Buckeyes' defensive line coach, supporting his statement on Meyer.
"Worst of the worst. Incapable (or unwilling) of behaving like a normal human being. Bad!," one fan said about Meyer.
"Exhibit 4,276 why Urban was..without question… the worst head coach in the history of the NFL," said Trey Wingo.
"There will never be enough Urban Meyer being terrible stories," another fan said.
"Sometimes I think to myself that I should study the NFL's ludicrously byzantine rule book a little more closely and then I find out that Urban Meyer didn't know who Aaron Donald was or who the head coach of a division rival was," said Danny Kelly of the Ringer.
Meyer's brief foray into NFL coaching ended without distinction, but he remains one of the best college coaches of his generation, winning national championships at multiple destinations.
These days, he works for FOX Sports as a college football analyst, and can be seen covering their marquee games for the "Big Noon Kickoff" show each week during the season.
