Urban Meyer didn't hesitate when naming college football's best quarterback on Saturday.

There are a lot of primetime quarterbacks in the college football world this season. Cam Ward, the Houston transfer, has been tearing it up at Miami this season. Ward is among the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy. Elsewhere, Dillon Gabriel has led the Oregon Ducks to an undefeated season and the No. 1 ranking. Gabriel is among the top Heisman Trophy contenders, as well. Will Howard has been playing well for Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to a top three ranking, while there's been some solid quarterback play in the Southeastern Conference of late, too. Jalen Milroe had a somewhat shaky start to the year, but he's been putting on a show lately.

But Meyer, the former Ohio State and Florida Gators head coach, believes someone else is the best quarterback in the country.

According to Meyer, the best quarterback in the country is none other than Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes.

Meyer said on FOX on Saturday that Sanders is the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Sanders has been playing extremely well lately, leading the Colorado Buffaloes to College Football Playoff contention.

Colorado is now 8-2 on the year and ranked inside of the top 20.

Sanders is starting to really mature, too. He had a shaky start to the game against Utah on Saturday. Sanders admitted that he apologized to his teammates for doing so.

"I'ma have a talk with the whole offense and apologize for my performance out there at the very beginning," Sanders said.

That's the kind of leadership you want out of your quarterback, isn't it?

Colorado, No. 18 in the country, is set to finish the year with games against Kansas and Oklahoma State.
