Tributes are pouring in following the death of a NASCAR Hall of Famer on Sunday.
Bobby Allison, the "Alabama Gang" legend and the fourth winningest driver in NASCAR history, passed away this weekend. He was 86 years old. Allison, whose health had been worsening in recent years, passed away peacefully at home.
"Bobby Allison personified the term 'racer.' Though he is best known as one of the winningest drivers in NASCAR Cup Series history, his impact on the sport extends far beyond the record books," NASCAR Chairman and CEO Jim France said in a statement.
"As a driver, he won races and championships across several NASCAR divisions. But as the leader of the famous "Alabama Gang," Bobby connected with fans in a profound manner. In the most significant ways, he gave his all to our sport. On behalf of the France family and all of NASCAR, I offer my deepest condolences to Bobby's family, friends and fans on the loss of a NASCAR giant."
Tributes are pouring in from the NASCAR world for the winner of 85 career races and 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame class member.
"One of the most impactful pictures ever. It will forever perfect the image of who Bobby Allison really was," one fan wrote.

"Bobby was as great a racer as any. A brilliant engineer, superb driver. Just as good in a Cup car, modified, dirt modified, Indycar, or sports car. A man who gave everything for racing RIP legend," one fan added.

"Godspeed Bobby Allison. I've never known a purer racer but I've also never known a man who was forced to endure more pain. No matter, you couldn't keep him away from the racetrack. As sad as I am he's passed, I'm so happy knowing he's back with Judy, Davey, Clifford and Neil," ESPN's Ryan McGee added.

"Sad day losing NASCAR legend Bobby Allison. I'll never forget this day, October 11 2016 at his home. He shared stories of his HOF career & how it still grinded his gears he didn't get credit for that Bowman Gray win in 1972. But NASCAR made it right all these years later giving him the official win just a few weeks ago on Oct 23rd bringing his win total to 85 & 4th all time. I'm so glad he was bestowed that victory before he passed, I'm sure part of his heart was made whole. But he lived for many years on this Earth without his sons Davey & Clifford, I'm at peace tonight knowing they're together again. A Champion, hero husband, father, friend & Hall of Famer. Rest in peace Bobby. Thank you for all the incredible moments you gave us. My prayers are with his family," Danielle Trotta added.
