The Kansas City Chiefs picked up a road win against the Carolina Panthers last week to move to 10-1 on the season, and one Chiefs player was praised for helping a fan avoid serious injury after the game.

A young fan fell headfirst over a wall while trying to get the attention of Chiefs players who were walking back into the locker room. After the fan tipped over the wall, Chiefs defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton sprang into action, catching the fan before he fell on his head and neck.

Wharton, who took off his gloves to hand to the young fan, caught him and helped him back over the concrete wall.

Kelce, who was trailing behind Wharton at the time of the incident, addressed the fan's fall on his "New Heights" podcast with his older brother Jason.

"I actually saw this and I just kept it moving. I felt bad after once I found out," Kelce said. The tight end then blamed the accident on the architecture of the Panthers' stadium.

"I don't know who the brainiac was who cut the railing right there. You see how there's a little gap? What the [expletive] is that for?"

After Jason responded by jokingly classifying the Panthers as "anti-kids," Travis suggested that the young fan should take legal action.

"Dude he should [expletive]-ing go to school with a neck brace on and sue the [expletive]-ing Panthers. Get rich quick, kid," said the tight end.

He then gave a shoutout to Wharton for acting quickly and doing what he could to help the boy avoid injury.

"Shoutout to Terk for making sure the little guy was alright. Once I saw Terk was over there I knew everything was good."

Wharton said that his move to help the fan was a "natural reaction."

"Usually when I leave a game I try to throw my gloves in the crowd. I heard my name a little bit and then I saw him coming down," Wharton said in an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."

"There were two security guards there but I don't think they realized what I was doing because they were looking at us but I just had to push him into the stands a little bit so he didn't hit too hard. I kind of grabbed him right by the back of his back and pushed him into the stands a little bit more."

Wharton said that if he's able, he'd like to reconnect with the fan and invite him to a game in Kansas City.

The Chiefs will be in action in the NFL's second-ever Black Friday game, as they'll take on the Las Vegas Raiders at 3 PM ET on Amazon Prime Video.
