Travis Kelce Showed His True Character After Controversial Win

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs got the job done once again on Saturday.
The Chiefs topped the Texans, 23-14, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday afternoon. Kansas City is now off to the AFC Championship Game, facing either Buffalo or Baltimore. It's the seventh straight AFC Championship Game for Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs squad. They are going for their third straight Super Bowl win.
Saturday's win was not without controversy, though. There were some questionable penalties called on Houston's defense. NFL referees seemed to be extra motivated to protect Mahomes on Saturday. The Chiefs still made the plays when it mattered the most, and deserved the win, but it wasn't without some questionable officiating calls, that's for sure.
Kelce, meanwhile, was all class while speaking about his team's win following the game.
Kelce had nothing but good things to say about the Texans and their head coach, DeMeco Ryans, following Saturday's close playoff win at Arrowhead Stadium.
The three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end could've been cocky or brash - and he probably has the right to be, considering his team's playoff history - but he chose to go the other way.
Kelce was extremely complimentary of the Texans and their head coach, along with their toughness.
The three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end admitted that Houston gave Kansas City problems because "they're extremely tough individuals...I think that has a lot to do with their head coach and how that trickles down with the leadership and mentality."

It's a classy move by Kelce to speak so highly of his opponent moments after a big win like that. The Chiefs are one of the best dynasties in recent sports memory, but Kelce continuously speaks highly of his opponents in the moments following a close win. That's admirable and character showing.
The Chiefs will now wait to see who they take on in the AFC Championship Game. The Ravens and the Bills are set to play at 6:30 p.m. E.T on Sunday afternoon.
The winner will meet the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game next weekend.
