Former Oklahoma quarterback General Booty has already heard from a Big Ten school since entering the transfer portal.

Per On3's Pete Nakos, Booty has been in contact with Iowa since he entered the portal.

Booty originally transferred to Oklahoma in May of 2022 after playing at Tyler Junior College. He compiled 3,115 yards through the air and 25 touchdowns before committing to OU.

It makes sense that Iowa needs a quarterback because the program doesn't have a lot of options right now. Cade McNamara and Marco Lainez are the only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, with the former still recovering from a torn ACL.

There's a chance that Booty could come in and start right away, which has to be enticing for him.

Booty has also told Nakos that he's heard from other programs, including Tulsa and Samford.

This would be a big win for the Iowa program if the coaching staff can close on him.

Iowa finished the 2023 season with a 10-4 record after losing to Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl. It's the second time in three seasons that Iowa has won 10 games.
