Tragic Update In World Series Pitcher's Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Former Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Jenks announced earlier this year that he's battling stomach cancer. Unfortunately, the latest update on his status isn't very encouraging.
Jenks, 44, isn't just dealing with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma right now. He revealed that his family lost its house in the Los Angeles wildfires. With that said, he's briefly putting his battle with cancer on hold so he can support his loved ones financially.
A White Sox fan account with the username "ChiSoxFanMike" announced on Wednesday night that Jenks will hold an in-person signing very soon. He's hoping to raise money for his family.
There's a chance this could be the final signing of Jenks' career.
"As many of you may have heard, former White Sox closer Bobby Jenks not only lost his house in the recent Los Angeles fires, but he is now in the final stages of his battle with stomach cancer," the post read. "Bobby and his wife have agreed to do an in-person signing, with the hope of raising money to help cover medical expenses. It is with great sadness to admit that, in all likelihood, this will be Bobby's last signing. Some of Bobby's teammates and former coaches have agreed to join the fundraising effort and we will be adding them in the coming weeks. A signing with Darren Dreifort is already listed, and all profits from his signing will also be donated to the Jenks."
Jenks pitched on the White Sox from 2005-2010, winning a World Series title in his first season. He then finished his MLB career with the Boston Red Sox.
Over the course of his MLB career, Jenks had a 3.53 ERA with 173 saves and 351 strikeouts. The California native earned All-Star during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Our thoughts are with Jenks and his loved ones during this difficult time.
