Per Bruce Feldman, Rice offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa has committed to Ohio State. He loved what he saw during his visit and picked OSU over Iowa, Florida State, and Texas A&M.

He will make the Buckeyes' offensive line even better in 2025 since he only allowed one sack during the 2025 season. It's a big recruiting win for Ryan Day after the Buckeyes crushed the Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Before originally committing to the Rice Owls, Onianwa was a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and the No. 228 recruit in his home state (Texas), per 247Sports composite rankings.
He wasn't as high of a recruit as others but he's put in the work and is already one of the best offensive linemen in the country. During his time with the Owls, he made 38 appearances with 34 starts.
The transfer portal opened on December 7 and will remain open until this Saturday, December 28. It's one of the busiest times of the college football season since players are looking to cash in on big pay-days from programs.
Even players from Power Four programs that get NIL money are looking for even bigger pay-days from other Power Four programs.
The Buckeyes are currently preparing for the Oregon Ducks in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. They're set to play them at the Rose Bowl next Wednesday, January 1 with a berth in the semifinals on the line.
These two teams last met on October 12 with Oregon winning by one, 32-31. Hopefully, the rematch is just as good next week.
Kickoff will be at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
