It's Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season, which means we're almost at the halfway mark of the entire year. As the contenders distinguish themselves, the power rankings are starting to make a lot more sense.
On Thursday, Fox NFL color commentator Tom Brady unveiled his top five NFL teams for Week 9 of this season. In a three-minute video, Brady put the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and finally the Kansas City Chiefs into the upper echelon of the NFL.
Here is Brady's full Week 9 Power Rankings:
- Kansas City Chiefs (7-0)
- Detroit Lions (6-1)
- Buffalo Bills (6-2)
- Houston Texans (6-2)
- Green Bay Packers (6-2)

It's a pretty strong list, though a few fans in the comments took issue with Brady not showing enough love to the Washington Commanders, who are also 6-2 and boast one of the best players in all of football right now with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
The Texans' presence on the list could certainly change within a few short hours as they prepare for a Thursday Night Football tilt with the hapless New York Jets.
Then there's the state of the NFC North, which went from being dominated by the Minnesota Vikings to being a two-horse race between the Lions and Packers. Detroit and Green Bay face off this Sunday.
What will Brady's power rankings look like one week from now?
