Titans Make Decision On Brian Callahan After Firing General Manager

The Tennessee Titans made a big change on Tuesday by firing general manager Ran Carthon.
He had only been the GM for two seasons and even signed an extension during the offseason before he was fired. His deal had four years left.
Even though the Titans let Carthon go, they're keeping head coach Brian Callahan in place. Per Josina Anderson, his job is "safe."
"No. Brian Callahan is safe. The source indicated that days ago, which is why when I tweeted about people monitoring the #Titans GM job a couple days ago I did not mention the head coach. #Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk affirmed that in her team statement," Anderson tweeted.
Callahan wrapped up his first season as head coach with the Titans on Sunday in a 23-14 loss to the Houston Texans. He went 3-14 in his first season as head coach and will need to be a lot better in 2025.
Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker will lead the charge for a new GM who will pair nicely with Callahan.
The Titans aren't happy with the way they have played these last two seasons, compiling a 9-25 record. They have missed the playoffs in three straight years and haven't made the dance since 2021 when they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional round.
Mike Vrabel was the coach then and led the Titans to a 12-5 record that season. He was fired after the 2023 season and is expected to interview for multiple jobs during this coaching cycle.
The Titans can start requesting to interview candidates for their GM job ASAP now that the job is open. Other teams have already gotten their interview process underway for their open GM and head coaching jobs.
