Big changes are coming to the format of the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game this summer.

According to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic, the next WNBA All-Star Game will feature a game pitting the USA Basketball Women's National Team players in the WNBA versus a team of remaining WNBA All-Star players. The game is slated for July 20.

"The WNBA says the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will feature a game between the WNBA All-Stars who comprise the USA Basketball Women's National Team versus the remaining WNBA All-Stars," Deitsch wrote. "July 20 (8:30 p.m. ET)."

Team USA will be participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris this summer. They will be pursuing their eighth straight gold medal in the Summer Olympics.

The Olympic team will have to depart for France a few days after the All-Star Game, so head coach Cheryl Reeve will have a big impact on who winds up playing in the All-Star Game.

Last year's WNBA All-Star Game pitted Team Wilson, led by captain A'ja Wilson against Team Stewart, led by captain Breanna Stewart. Team Stewart won the game with a decisive score of 143-127, with Jewel Loyd serving as the game MVP.

Loyd had a team-leading 31 points in the game while Brittney Griner had a game-leading 13 rebounds. Stewart herself had nine assists.

It will be interesting to see how the new format plays out.
