The Titans Have Responded To The Will Levis Trade Rumor

Will Levis has been the subject of trade rumors two years after the Tennessee Titans picked him in the second round of the NFL Draft.
After starting nine games as a rookie, Levis made 12 starts in 2024 but at one point lost his job to Mason Rudolph. The former Penn State and University of Kentucky quarterback threw for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
With the Titans holding the No. 1 pick in this year's draft--and most people expecting them to pick Miami quarterback Cam Ward--Levis' future has been up for debate lately. Tennessee also signed a pair of journeymen signal callers this offseason in Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle, further muddying the team's plans at the QB position.
Despite reports that Levis is on the trade block, Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said Sunday that is not the case.
"That's a false report," Brinker said, via the team's website. "We have not contacted anybody, and nobody has contacted us, about Will Levis. I don't think anything has changed from the time somebody asked me about this a month ago."
As for Tennessee's supposed plan for Levis, Brinker says they believe he can compete for the starting job.
"The plan with Will Levis is he has a chance to compete for a starting job next year. And that's like every player that's on our roster," Brinker explained. "It's no different for Will. I see him in our facility, he's working hard. Everybody knows he's a great kid, he's a hard worker and he's going to give it everything he has. And we're going to continue to work with Will Levis."
Is it possible Brinker is saying one thing while the team is working on doing the other with Levis? Maybe.
At the same time though, Levis is on a cheap rookie deal for two more seasons, so keeping him around as an affordable backup with experience is not a bad option, particularly if Tennessee picks Ward next month.
