The Masters Makes Decision On Price Of Iconic Pimento Cheese Sandwich

The Masters has no shortage of traditions, ranging from the renditions of "Georgia on My Mind" to the green jacket awarded at the end of the tournament. But one other noteworthy tradition is the inexpensive prices of Augusta National's iconic concessions.
While inflation may have caused the price of food items to quadruple in the last 15 years or so, the Masters has remained firm in their low prices.
But will those continued low prices remain low for the 2025 edition of the iconic golf major?
Yes it will.
According to Darren Rovell, the famed Pimento Cheese sandwich at the Masters will cost just $1.50 - the 23rd straight year at that price. The sandwich last saw a price bump from $1.25 to $1.50 back in 2002. It cost just $1.00 back in 1997.
Rovell calculated that with inflation factored in, the $1.50 price point of the sandwich actually makes it $0.50 cheaper today than it was comparatively in 2002.

Granted, we haven't seen the full breakdown of concession prices for the 2025 Masters just yet. But we do have last year's prices readily available, so we will be able to compare notes once the event starts in a few weeks.
- Pimento Cheese sandwich - $1.50
- Egg Salad sandwich - $1.50
- Masters Club sandwich - $3.00
- Chick salad on Honey wheat - $3.00
- Ham/cheese on rye - $3.00

- Domestic Beer - $6.00
- Import Beer - $6.00
- Crow's Nest - $6.00
Keeping prices low at the Masters has been a tradition for upwards of 50 years. Former Augusta National chairman Clifford Roberts famously wrote in his 1976 book on Augusta's history that it's part of the appeal of the event.
"We believe that one of the reasons the Masters is popular with patrons of the game is because they can obtain good food and drink at reasonable prices," Roberts wrote.
Heaven help the first person to raise the prices on any of the Masters' traditional prices.
As far as the 2025 Masters tournament goes, it begins on April 10 next week. Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion, having won the event by four strokes over Ludvig Aberg last year.
