The Lions Just Ran The Coolest Trick Play Of The NFL's Season
Yesterday at 03:59 PM
Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson dug deep in his bag this Sunday as Detroit attempts to bounce back from last week's loss to Josh Allen and the Bills.
In the third quarter, the Lions appeared to run a trick play where Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs pretended to fumble the ball before dropping back to hit Sam LaPorta on deep shot down the field.

Fans were loving the creative score online:
"We've reached fake fumble depth in Ben Johnson's play calling well," a user replied.
"GOFF HIT THE FAKE STUMBLE AND THEN THREW A TD," theScore laughed.
"Fake fumble play action TD pass? Ben Johnson is a mad man," JPA Football said.
"Ben Johnson is actually insane," Underdog NFL commented. "A fake fumble?!"
"the fake fall & fumble play is DIABOLICAL," Warren Sharp posted.
"Ben Johnson you are a sicko... Lions Fake Fumble TD," B/R Gridiron shared.
"Lions really had a fake fumble in their bag of tricks," a fan cried.
"Detroit Lions fake fumble play — epic. That's so damn good," Colin Cowherd remarked.
The Lions are putting it on the Bears as they look to extend their 34-17 lead even further with just under six minutes to go.
Goff is a remarkable 23-of-30 so far with 336 yards and three touchdown passes — while Gibbs has toted the rock 23 times for 109 and a score on the ground.
It has to be a welcome sign for fans in the Motor City after last week's tough loss. After this one they'll turn their attention to the 49ers and Vikings before the postseason gets started.
