The Dallas Cowboys Have To Fire Mike McCarthy On Sunday Night

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones should meet with the media on Sunday night, after the blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium, and announce a coaching change.
The Cowboys' problems are not limited to coaching, of course. The roster is dealing with a ton of injuries, lacks playmakers on offense and doesn't feature enough good tacklers - and defensive backs - on defense. But there's a glaring coaching problem, too. Mike McCarthy has looked lost since the Cowboys' blowout loss to the Packers in the NFC Wild Card Game last season. The Cowboys haven't won a home game since December of 2023, after all.
Sunday, the Cowboys are losing to the Eagles, 31-6, early in the fourth quarter. Dallas has turned the ball over three times. Cooper Rush hasn't gotten anything going on offense. While fans have pushed for backup quarterback Trey Lance to play in place of the injured Dak Prescott, McCarthy has refused.
This is not just a bad roster with injuries. It's a poorly coached team.
The Cowboys make mistake after mistake, fail to capitalize in the red zone, lack consistency when it matters and don't seem to have learned from anything.
Clearly, this is a lost season for the Cowboys, but you have to do something if you're Jerry Jones. You made a stupid decision in retaining McCarthy after the 2023 season and you shouldn't double down on that decision midway through the year.
Own up to your mistake and make a move.
