After winning their home opener against the Las Vegas Raiders this past weekend, the Los Angeles Chargers have back-to-back road games in the Eastern Timezone before their big game against the rival Kansas City Chiefs.

But while most NFL teams promptly return home after road games even on a short week, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh wants the team to take a different approach.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Harbaugh announced that the Chargers would not be flying back to Los Angeles after their Week 2 game against the Carolina Panthers. Instead, he'll have the team head to Pittsburgh for their Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As for the reason, Harbaugh feel that it's just "a great time to do it" and believes that it'll give the team a chance to get acclimated to the new timezone.

"I think it's a great time to do it," Harbaugh said. "It's not the most ideal thing. Everybody would rather be sleeping in their own bed, in their own house. The 1:00 Eastern Time kickoff really necessitates — that's 10 o'clock our body time — getting acclimated to that. Plus you take out the 20 or so hours of travel time. Other benefits, let's just focus on our football."

It's not a bad strategy, though the team had better book some 10/10 accommodations for that week on the road. Heaven forbid they go somewhere and bring back bedbugs.

Do you like this idea from Harbaugh or should they head home after the Panthers?
