Terry Bradshaw has worked for FOX's NFL coverage for decades now, but he remains a Pittsburgh Steeler at heart.

Of course, Bradshaw, the most successful signal caller in Steelers history, has his eyes on the team's current QB situation. Justin Fields has started the first six games of the season, and Pittsburgh has gone 4-2, good for a first-place tie in the AFC North. However, with Russell Wilson back healthy, all signs point to him making his first start of the season Sunday night against the New York Jets.

Given his choice between the two, Bradshaw told TMZ Thursday that he would "hang my hat with the young guy."

"I'm gonna stay with Fields," Bradshaw said. "I think he's played really good. He's such a great athlete, he can throw, and I think he just fits the team he has right now."

Through six games, Fields has thrown for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and one interception while adding 231 rushing yards and five scores.

While we're sure he appreciates Bradshaw's support, the former Chicago Bears first-round pick had a different assessment of his play on Thursday.

"I don't think I played good enough, if I'm being real with you," Fields said, per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo. "If I'm being real with myself, if I did play well enough, I don't think there would be any sort of [question] who should be playing, who should not."

The Steelers acquired Wilson in the offseason with the intention of having him start, so it's understandable they would want to get him in in the lineup as soon as possible.

It sounds like that will be 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday night on NBC against the Jets.
