Terrell Owens began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers, and now his son will get the same opportunity.

According to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the 49ers will be signing Owens' son Terique to an undrafted free agent contract following 2024 NFL Draft.

Terique Owens played at Missouri State, spending the last three years at the school.

Now, he begins his professional football journey in the same city and for the same team his father did.

"Just to see where he is now, the progression that he's made even within just the end of last year, the last few games he had at Missouri State to where we are today, he's made leaps and bounds as far as becoming a really good receiver," Terrell Owens told 49ers.com about Terique ahead of the NFL Draft.

"I'm proud of him just to get to this point," said the Hall of Famer said. "He has to take these moments as huge opportunities for him to show what he can do."

The 49ers drafted Terrell Owens with the No. 89 overall pick in 1996 out of Chattanooga.

He spent the first eight years of his career with the team, making multiple Pro Bowl appearances and All-Pro teams while leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns twice.

Owens was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018 after retiring in 2010. He ended his career with 1,078 receptions, 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns.

Terique Owens has huge shoes to fill in San Francisco, but he's off to a great start with the support of his father and the 49ers organization.
