Taylor Swift's Ex-Boyfriend Makes Promise After Their Public Breakup

Taylor Swift has spent a significant portion of her career writing songs about her past relationships.

Prior to linking up with Travis Kelce, her current boyfriend of more than a year, Swift was briefly in a relationship with Matty Healy, front man of the band The 1975. The two were also together for a time in 2014. But while Swift apparently contained several references to her time with Healy on her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, the 35-year-old London native said he won't be returning the favor.

During an appearance on the "Doomscroll" podcast Wednesday, Healy said he is "not interested" in writing songs about his romantic life following his breakup with Swift. 

"I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don't know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I've kind of become known for, just because I was famous," Healy said.

"I think that that's an obvious thing to draw from. And I'm just not interested in it. And I think like, the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against."

Healy acknowledged that last year he "became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons," seemingly a nod to his partnership with Swift.

He also said he had been more open to writing about love and heartbreak in the past but has no use for doing so now.

"So the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out is gonna be like two years old, I see people doing that as well, and it's not interesting," Healy said.

While Swift is happily together with Kelce these days, Healy has also found new love. He's engaged to Gabriella Leigh Bechtel, known as Gabriette, an American model and musician.
