Taylor Swift Facing Heat For Shutting Down Busy Highway

Taylor Swift is heading north of the border for the much-anticipated Canadian leg of her billion-dollar "Eras Tour," but everyone isn't happy to see how she arrived in Canada.
Swift is set to perform five more times at the Rogers Centre over the next week, the home to Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays. Swift's concerts are expected to sell out as they've done for several months on her wildly successful tour.
She arrived in Toronto on Thursday, and an entire highway was closed off for her motorcade and escort to the stadium.
The motorcade was likely a security measure to keep overzealous fans away, but many on social media criticized the singer for holding up traffic.
Taylor Swift looks to have a more impressive motorcade protecting her concert venue than any world leader who visited Toronto in recent memory. #cdnpoli#Toronto#ErasTour#ProtestManiapic.twitter.com/ROhYgVESLg

"The city of Toronto government legit shut down one of the busiest highways in all of Canada to clear it for Taylor Swift...WHAT?! This is an obscene waste of taxpayers' money and hindrance to those same taxpayers, and dangerous because it's an obstacle for emergency services," said one commenter on social media.
"The way this city is shutting everything down for this parasite is astonishing like please, this is unhinged," said another commenter.
"She doesn't have a single song in her catalog that requires them to do all that," one user said.
"Shutting down the busiest section of highway in North America for someone who's never made a non-mid song," another user added.
"Shutting down Gardiner express is WILD. That's like one of the only ways to even get into Toronto from the east?! Were all the cars just waiting for them to open it up again or what was done here?," one user asked.
"My taxpayer dollars can be organized for this, but I can't even get from the west end to downtown in the 20 minutes it was poorly designed for me to," said another user.
Swift is set to perform for the second night out of a total of six in Toronto over the next week.
She'll then take a brief break for the Thanksgiving holiday - and to possibly visit Travis Kelce and family - before hitting the road and heading back to Canada for shows in Vancouver in December.
