Stephen A. Smith Calls Out Angel Reese For Her Racy Outfit Choice

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese made headlines recently when she decided to delete her Instagram account. The WNBA All-Star posted a photo of herself wearing a revealing black dress, an outfit some considered "inappropriate."
After Reese's decision to delete her social media account, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith weighed in during an episode of his podcast.
"What's not debatable is how Caitlin Clark has handled her brand. With Angel Reese, you sometimes find yourself scratching your head wondering what the hell she's doing, like that photo right there," Smith said, comparing Reese to WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark.
"She's a beautiful young lady, and there are a lot of beautiful young ladies in the WNBA, but you can't come down the line and complain about being objectified later on. It's not going to work with people.
When you do stuff like that and draw attention to yourself, that can be problematic for you, especially when the comparison is going to be drawn to Caitlin Clark who isn't doing such things."
Reese has been outspoken about her issues with being objectified by fans and not consenting to the things people say about her.
"I've been posting pictures in my bikinis. I got a nice body and I work hard for it. And if I want to post a picture of my bikini, I should be able to without being sexualized," Reese said in an episode of her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast last year.
"What I'm saying I'm asking for, or like being able to have a moment where like I'm being vulgar...it's the same. It's been happening for a really really really long time now and now it's just like okay, like find something new."
Reese and Clark, like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, will be connected for the entirety of their careers. It's clear that both players express themselves in different ways, but it seems that Reese's self-expression is a bit more controversial.
Clark has had her share of detractors, but one can argue that no player in the WNBA faced as much backlash as Reese this season.
She'll be able to put her focus back on basketball in just a few short days, as Reese will suit up for the new Unrivaled Basketball League. The Chicago Sky star will play for Rose Basketball Club, which also includes Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, and Lexie Hull, among others.
The Unrivaled season begins on January 17, and Reese's Rose will take on Vinyl at 8:125 PM on TNT and Max.
