Simone Biles Not Happy Group Of Men Failed To Recognize Her

Simone Biles is one of the most famous United States Olympians of all-time.
While Biles, who is 4 feet 8 inches tall, might be small in stature, her reputation precedes her. The legendary United States gymnast has won 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals. She's arguably the greatest gymnast in United States history and one of the greatest of all-time.
But still, not everyone is going to recognize her.
Biles sounded off on Threads, Instagram's Twitter-like social media platform, on some men who failed to recognize her earlier this week. She wasn't very happy with them.
Biles revealed that a group of men thought she was from a reality show. It seems that they thought she was a contestant on Netflix's "Too Hot To Handle" show. Of course, that's not the case.
"these guys just asked if I was from too hot too handle lmao GOODBYE," she wrote on Threads.
Her fans had some pretty funny reactions to the post, which has been viewed more than 300,000 times as of Thursday morning.
"And then you reply it with no I'm an Olympic gold medalist ever heard of those?" one fan wrote.
"...so then you leapt into the air, flipped around six times, stuck a perfect landing, and answered, 'Always,'" another fan added.
"Asking one of the greatest athletes of ALL TIME that is insane," another fan added.
However, one fan did point out that Biles bears a resemblance to one of the contestants on a past season of the show. Brianna Balram, who was on Season 6, does bear some resemblance.
"No lie, you and Bri from the last season do favor each other. but also, that's insane lol," the person wrote.
We don't think it's really that similar, though.
Biles, meanwhile, has to be used to this. Her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, claims that he didn't know who she was when they first matched on the dating app Raya.
"Literally had been on the app for a couple of days, man, and it's like she pops up. And, I'm like, 'Let me see who this is.' I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity," he said on The Pivot podcast.
"I go do my workout, and I come back and I had some likes on my Instagram. I still waited, and then I come back to my phone, and then she messaged me on the app, like, 'Hey.'
"I didn't know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers. So in my mind, I'm like, 'OK, she got to be good.'"
He added: "When she won the Olympics, I was in college, and we didn't have NBC, we didn't have Olympics channels, and we're in camp. So I'm not paying attention to, I never would have had a moment to, where I would have watched."
It seems tough to believe, as does the idea that some men would think she's from a Netflix reality show, but hey, no matter how famous you get, there are always going to be people who don't recognize you.
