'Significant Snow' In Forecast For Parts Of The U.S.

Who's ready for some snow?
It's cooling down for much of the United States this week. Winter weather is officially in the air. According to the forecast, "significant" snow is on the way for parts of the United States, too. Snowstorms could be coming for multiple parts of the U.S. in the coming days, though Minnesota might be getting it the most.
A "strong rain to snow" event is in the forecast for much of Minnesota next week. "Heavy snowfall" is reportedly possible.
From the forecast:
It's still early, but multiple forecast models are cranking up a strong rain-to-snow event across much of Minnesota next week.
The models suggest a rain system will spin into Minnesota late Monday and Tuesday, then possibly stall in the Upper Midwest through midweek. As it spins over Minnesota, it will likely pull in a feed of cold air strong enough to change rain to snow through midweek next week. And forecast models suggest heavy snowfall is possible.
Minnesota isn't the only part of the country bracing for snow, though. According to weather guru Jim Cantore, there's a possibility for snowball in several different parts of the United States.
There is currently "synoptic snow" in the forecast for the Midwest. That's considered a "large-scale" event and it happens from low-pressure systems resulting in widespread snow.
Elsewhere, there's lake-effect snow and rainfall in the forecast for parts of the Northeast.
"Who is ready for a little more Novemberish weather... Synoptic snow for the Midwest, Lake Effect SNOW and rainfall for the northeast. Guidance holding promise for all these about a week from today..." he reported on Thursday.

Who doesn't love a good snowstorm, at least once or twice a year? It's a bit early for them right now, of course, but it could be a good precursor to a snowy winter for most of the United States.
It feels like it's been a couple of years since we had some good snowstorms, at least in the Northeast.
