Shannon Sharpe, Kirk Herbstreit Have Come To An Agreement

Shannon Sharpe and Kirk Herbstreit spent the last couple of days in an ESPN-on-ESPN feud.
It all started on Saturday night, when Herbstreit was calling Ohio State's 42-17 win over Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Towards the end of the game, Herbstreit and partner Chris Fowler had a conversation about the criticism of OSU head coach Ryan Day, with Herbstreit first taking a shot at the "lunatic fringe" of the Buckeye fanbase before Fowler asked him about pundits who also called for Day's job.
"First Take tried to fire him," Herbstreit said. "They thought he was done. So I'll be excited to see what they talk about on Monday after this performance. They had him out, trying to find replacements. But here he is. Still got his hat on, still coaching."
Herbstreit dropping First Take by name led to Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe calling him out on Monday. Late Monday night on his "Nightcap" podcast with Chad Johnson, Sharpe said he and Herbstreit spoke and "cleared the air."
"We had a conversation today. We cleared the air. He told me what he was thinking, he apologized, I let him know what I was thinking," Sharpe said.
The conversation between Sharpe and Herbstreit occurred after the Hall of Fame tight end challenged Herbstreit and Fowler on the air yesterday.
"If we're going to be on the same team, if we're gonna work for the same network, don't do that," Sharpe said. "Kirk, Chris Fowler, I promise you, if you ever mention any platform that I'm on again, and talking about, 'I wonder what they're going to say as negativity,' I promise you, ESPN ain't got enough bosses to keep me off y'all for what I'm going to say."
Thankfully, for those ESPN bosses' sake, it looks like this budding beef has been squashed, although Herbstreit also took some friendly fire from colleagues Joe Buck and Troy Aikman during Monday Night Football last night.
