Tom Brady is known for his legendary NFL career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he got his start at the University of Michigan.

Brady was a part of the 1997 national championship-winning team, and he started for the Wolverines for two seasons. He won two bowl games for Michigan during his time at Ann Arbor, leading to a sixth-round selection in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Brady used Michigan as a launching pad for his career, and he's given back to the program since becoming an NFL player and now into his career as a broadcaster.

Michigan just landed its best quarterback recruit in history, and a new report suggests that the greatest quarterback of all time may have played a part.

According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Brady established a relationship with top quarterback Bryce Underwood over the last few weeks. That relationship culminated in Underwood choosing to flip from LSU and commit to Michigan.

Zenitz says that Brady offered his services as a mentor to Underwood, and that his willingness to help the young quarterback factored into his decision.

Underwood, who is from Belleville, Michigan, also reportedly loved the idea of being a hometown hero for a school that's near where he's from and currently plays in high school.

Zenitz also says that Underwood secretly visited Michigan earlier this week, learning more about the program and about head coach Sherrone Moore. He made his decision on Wednesday, telling Moore that he was going to commit to the Wolverines.

Underwood then let the world know on Thursday, shocking many who assumed that he would remain with LSU. The five-star quarterback had been committed to Brian Kelly's program for nearly a full year, and seemed to be against the idea of decommitting at one point.

Michigan also reportedly made an NIL offer of $10.5 million to the quarterback, compared to an offer of $1.5 million from LSU.

Underwood's college career hasn't started yet, and he's already one of the top news makers in college football. We'll see if that translates to on field success when he steps on the field for the first time next fall for Michigan.
