Rap Star Found Dead In His Atlanta Home At 34 Years Old

Fans of rap music received devastating news this Thursday afternoon. 

According to TMZ, platinum-selling rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away at the young age of 34. He was found dead in his home in Atlanta. 

No cause of death has been given at this time. As you'd imagine, Rich Homie Quan's family is "shattered and heartbroken" by his unexpected death.

TMZ reported that Rich Homie Quan's family is "desperately searching for answers." For now, it's way too early to determine what happened. 

Even though Rich Homie Quan started his rap career in 2011, it wasn't until two years later when he really made a name for himself. His 2013 single, "Type of Way,"  made its way onto the Billboard Hot 100. 

In 2015, the Georgia native dropped another hit single with "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)." That song was nominated for a pair of BET Hip Hop Awards.

Fans of his music are understandably saddened by his death. 

"So sad to see this. Rich Homie was a heavy part of the soundtrack of my time in college," one person wrote. 

Another person said, "This hurts. Wow. A very nice person. His music… he was so special! Rest in peace."

Additional details regarding this tragic situation will eventually come to light. 

For now, all we can say is that our thoughts are with Rich Homie Quan's loved ones.
