Meet The Wife Of Michael Phelps (1:10)

A women's professional surfer has died in horrifying fashion at 36 years old.

Giulia Manfrini, a professional surfer and thrill seeker from Italy, was killed in a horrifying swordfish accident while out on the water. The Italian surfer was surfing off of the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia earlier this month. Manfrini, who has built up a big following on social media, was reportedly struck in the chest by a swordfish while catching waves at Masokut Island in the Mentawai archipelago.

The social media influencer had a nearly two-inch deep wound in her chest, which killed her.

The social media influencer was transported to the hospital by fellow surfers following her injury. Unfortunately, she was not able to be saved. Massimo Ferro and Alexandre Ribas were among those who provided first aid at the scene and helped transport her to the hospital following the injury.

Manfrini, the social media influencer and professional surfer, was reportedly seen asking for help in the water. Witnesses reportedly claimed she was foaming at the mouth, which indicates potential drowning.

Venaria Reale mayor, Fabio Giulivi, is deeply saddened by her loss.

"The entire Venarian community is gathering around Giulia Manfrini's family. The news of her death has left us shocked and makes us feel powerless in front of the tragedy that took her life so prematurely.Giulia, from Venaria, only 36 years old, had long had her double dream of surfing, her favorite sport, and of opening a travel agency for sports holidays. And so, in the middle of life, he misses his loved ones in such a tragic way in the Indian Ocean. To mum Chiara, dad Giorgio and all the people who loved her, a touched hug from me and the whole City," he wrote.

Manfrini was also a former professional snowboarder and she reportedly studied law in college. She later became a professional surfer and instructor and amassed a following of nearly 25,000 fans on Instagram.

Our thoughts are with her friends and family members during this difficult time.
