NBA fans are thinking of Gregg Popovich following Wednesday's update.

The San Antonio Spurs announced that Popovich suffered a mild stroke on Nov. 2. He's begun a rehabilitation program and is expected to make a full recovery, but there's no timetable for when the head coach could return to the team.

Fans sent their well wishes to Popovich following the team's announcement.

"Praying for Coach Pop," a fan wrote.

"We love you Pop!! Wishing him a speedy recovery," a fan said.

"Get well soon Pop," a fan said.

"Love Pop, hoping he takes all the time he needs to recover," a fan said.

"Very scary, but grateful Pop is expected to make a full recovery," a fan wrote. "You can't quantify the impact Popovich has made on the NBA, or the lives he's touched throughout his career. There is only one Pop, and will only ever be one Pop."

The longest tenured head coach for any major U.S. men's sports team, Popovich joined the Spurs in 1996. He has since compiled 1,393 regular-season wins, the most in NBA history.

Popovich, a three-time Coach of the Year, has led the Spurs to five championships. They haven't made the playoffs since snapping a 22-year streak in 2020, but San Antonio signed him to a five-year extension last year in hopes of the legend reviving the organization behind No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama.

At age 75, Popovich is the oldest head coach in NBA history. Mitch Johnson has spent the last six games as the Spurs' acting head coach.

Our thoughts go out to Popovich and his loved ones as he recovers.
