Prayers Pouring In For Bills Player After Scary Injury Sunday
Today at 08:19 PM
We knew we'd be getting a gritty matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in this AFC Championship Game. But the last thing that fans of either team or even casual NFL fans wanted to see was a major injury.
Sadly, that's exactly what we saw at Arrowhead Stadium in the first half as Bills starting cornerback Christian Benford had to be carted off the field. Benford tried to lay a hit on a Chiefs player during a play on defense but struggled to get up afterwards. He had so much trouble getting up that they ultimately had to bring out a cart just to help him off the field.
The injury report came in a short while later with the news nobody wanted to hear: He was diagnosed with a concussion.
"Status alert: Christian Benford (concussion) won't return Sunday," Underdog NFL posted on X.

Fans on X and other social media were gutted for Benford with many sending their thoughts and prayers for his health:
"Prayers out to Christian Benford. That was tough to watch," one Bills fan wrote on X.
"Prayers: Christian Benford takes a scary hit to the head from Hamlin. The cart has come out," Dov Kleiman added.
"Prayers up for Christian Benford. Head injuries are always scary," a Chiefs fan wrote.
Benford's absence is more impactful than just the emotional level. As the Bills' starting cornerback he's an essential part of the team's defense in a game where they're taking on one of the most prolific offenses in the league.
This past season Benford started 15 games, recording 10 passes defended, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a career-high 64 tackles.
That's a lot of defensive production for the Bills to be losing in their biggest game in nearly five years.
By the looks of things, Buffalo are going to need their offense to keep pace with the Chiefs because the stops are not coming as often as they'd like.
The Chiefs lead the Bills 21-16 late in the second quarter.
