Meet The Cheerleaders Of The NCAA Tournament (1:32)

Auburn star Johni Broome had an injury scare in the second half of today's game against Michigan State.

Broome was putting on a dominant performance against the Spartans when he went down with an arm injury while attempting to grab a defensive rebound. It looked like Broome's right arm got caught underneath him as he landed, and to make matters worse, the national player of the year candidate also appeared to tweak his left leg.

Broome was in discomfort sitting on the ground with a trainer before walking off the court and going to the locker room.

With Broome's status unknown, fans on social media began tossing out well-wishes and prayers for the first-team All-American.

"Prayers up for Johni Broome. Sure Gators play them if they win, but a persons health is more important than a basketball game. Hope he's alright!!" a Florida fan said.

"Injuries are the worst man especially in the postseason, prayers to Broome hope he's okay," a fifth commenter chimed in.

Incredibly, as frightening as Broome's fall may have looked, it didn't keep him out of the rest of the game.

After spending a few minutes in the locker room--where X-rays were negative--Broome returned to the floor and checked back into the game. The 6-foot-10 forward immediately pulled down a rebound and hit a 3-pointer to help the Tigers push their lead out.

Currently, Auburn leads Michigan State 64-55 with a little over two minutes remaining. If the Tigers hold on, they will be the fourth No. 1 seed to reach the Final Four this year, only the second time all four top seeds have advanced to the final weekend.

You can catch the rest of the game on CBS.
