Prayers Are Pouring In For Saints QB Derek Carr On Monday

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr's 2024 season appears to have come to an end Sunday.
Carr injured his left hand in the fourth quarter of the Saints' 14-11 win over the New York Giants when he landed hard after attempting to hurdle a defender near the sideline. The veteran signal caller stayed down on the field for several minutes before eventually making his way to the locker room.
Jake Haener replaced Carr, who suffered a "significant" break in his hand, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"#Saints QB Derek Carr did, in fact, suffer a significant fracture in his non-throwing hand, per me and @TomPelissero," said Rapoport. "He's expected to miss several weeks. Based on where we are in the season, this is potentially season-ending."
A brutal break, no pun intended, for Carr, who was looking to finish the season strong. Fans on social media have been wishing the 33-year-old a quick recovery.
"Prayers up to Derek Carr. Wish him nothing but a speedy recovery," said the Sidelines-Fresno State account.
"#Saints QB Derek Carr has suffered a fractured hand. Him being a QB means this is a huge negative impact towards him; a break or crack in the hand or even the bone being out of the alignment. This is a blow to an already struggling Saints squad. Prayers up," said an NFL injury account.
"Hope he has a fast recovery," another person added.
"I wish injuries upon nobody and I genuinely hope Carr recovers, but I hope we have seen him in a New Orleans Saints uniform for the very last time," a Saints fan chimed in.
This is Carr's second injury of the season. He previously missed time with an oblique issue.
In his second campaign with the Saints, Carr finished with 2,145 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions in 10 games. Haener or rookie Spencer Rattler will hold down the fort at quarterback for New Orleans over the season's final four weeks.
